Who We Are

A warm welcome to all our members. We've gone through some major changes this year - the biggest of which is our new name.

United Savings & Loans is the umbrella trading name for all of our Hampshire Credit Union branches throughout the county. Our aim is to provide a friendly, approachable service for all our members. Just come into your local branch to see what we can do for you.

United Savings & Loans supports the whole community - providing affordable loans and savings for all, choice for the ethically minded investor and helping those having difficulty in accessing mainstream banking. We pride ourselves on presenting a friendly face to our members and on reaching into the community to lend a helping hand.

United Savings & Loans is a not-for-profit organisation. We have strong values and because we have no external shareholders to keep happy no funds are gambled on the financial markets. Any profits made are used to secure our future, improve our services, and ultimately given back to our members through a competitive dividend payable on our range of savings accounts. People who join a credit union are called its 'members', and the credit union is run purely for their benefit.

Unlike other lenders, credit unions have an obligation to lend responsibly - only providing loans that are likely to improve the members' situation and helping them keep control of their finances.

We are financed and supported by various councils, housing associations, and charities throughout Hampshire yet we are owned and run by our members. For a full list of supporting partners please refer to our Friends of USL section of the website

Affordable Loans

Our loans have a maximum APR of only 26.8%APR and are individually assessed and awarded on your ability to repay. Loans are available from £100 to £5000.

At United Savings & Loans, you're not just a customer, you're a member of a successful financial co-operative. Through saving with us, members can rest assured that their money is being used to regenerate the local economy by providing financial assistance to those who need it most and helping those who are often excluded from mainstream banking services.

Current Account

Our current account gives you instant access to your money day or night with a VISA debit card. You can withdraw up to £250 a day from an ATM as well as using cashback services from supermarkets or other major retailers. You are also able to set up direct debits and standing orders so you will never forget to back a bill payment again.
